Assaggio's commitment to excellence has served us and our customers well since the first Assaggio Ristorante Italiano was opened in 1989 by Thomas Ky. Thomas can appreciate food's precious gift. During his childhood in communist Vietnam, his poor family often went hungry. He escaped by boat as a boy, vowing to create a better life for his family in America. How he did that is one of Assaggio's most remarkable recipes, a mixture of Vietnamese work ethic, the American dream, and Italian seasonings.
